I’ve had alot of traffic on this blog lately.  Thanks everyone for your interest and for taking a peek.  I can see that several of you are looking for JBS products.  I have a couple of sneak peeks here and some cards here and here and here.  My website is in the process of being built (unfortunately it’s taking a little longer than expected).

The first store to offer JBS products will be Scrapbook Art in Lewis Center.  I’m excited to say that they will carry our entire line!!  Thank you Scrapbook Art!!!  They recently changed ownership and the new address is 1190 E. Powell Rd, Lewis Center OH 43035 (beside Wholly Joe’s).  Their Grand Opening is scheduled for the weekend of Sept 6th and 7th!  Please stop by and check out the new store and all the new goodies!  I know they plan to send out a newsletter with more information soon!

In the meantime, I thought I would share with you my favorite line…Cream of Mushroom (get it - soup names). ;-)  In addition to this line there are 5 other lines.  As you can see from the cards, several are printed on kraft paper.  This particular line will be sold in both white and kraft.  I also have some other goodies coming out as well.  Check out our Alphabeans below.

Alphabeans…there’s a total of 12 different Alphabean colors and designs.  Here are 4 to share…

If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at info@jillibean-soup.com.

Thanks for looking and please stop by soon!!

Much to do about nothing…

Uggghhh!  I have so much to do right now and here I sit on the couch (with sweet Lily beside me) just lurking on the internet and catching glimpses of the Olympics.  Why would I want to get up and put some laundry in the dryer?  Why would I want to go downstairs and organize my office?  Why would I want to wipe up my incredibly messy crumb loving wood floor in the kitchen?  Why would I want to pay some bills?  I don’t know either - it’s so comfy sitting on my couch (with sweet Lily beside me).  I admit it, some things have gone by the wayside with my incredibly busy schedule.  I’ve had to give in to some of my OCD tendencies and just let things go.  I used to be so organized!  My house used to be so clean!  I look in my cupboards and go “yuck” at the dirt and grime lurking below my sink cupboard.   I dream of the days when things won’t be so cluttered.   It seems like my schedule is getting more cluttered too.  I need to take charge now or it’s going to get even more out of control!  I need 10 more hours in a day!

Dont’ get me wrong - I love my life.  OK, most of it.  I could do without diets, alarm clocks and antsGod has blessed me with 3 little girls that make me smile everyday.  I was changing Brooke’s poopie diaper today and Kami looked over my shoulder and said “is it big?”  Who wouldn’t love to hang out with 3 funny little peeps?  They don’t care that there are crumbs on my floor.  They don’t care if I procrastinate - ok, I take that back.  When Leah wants things, she wants them now!  They don’t care about clutter - they seem to embrace it!  :-)  I know this post is much ado about nothing and I’m just rambling.  I’ve been feeling extra emotional lately.  I’ve got lots going on right now…Leah starting kindergarten, Brooke going to milk from formula, Lily requiring extra attention, Jillibean Soup moving forward.  Did I mention that Scrapbook Art in Lewis Center is going to carry my entire line?  ;-)

OK, off to bed - sweet dreams.

Fun Bits for the week… August 18, 2008

Fun Bits for the week of August 11th…

  • I don’t think I shared last week that we attended a wedding in Indianapolis on the 9th.  The wedding was quite impressive complete with gorgeous flowers, doves, thrown rose petals, lots of seashells, several places to make secret wishes to the couple, hand-painted favors and fireworks!  The ceremony was beautiful and the pastor was very inspiring.  His message made me thankful for having Eric in my life.  We wish Craig and Amy the best!
  • Brooke has been taking more steps.  She’s getting more comfortable walking.  Soon she’ll be running!
  • In an earlier post I mentioned my nieces visiting for the weekend.  We were all very tired after the busy weekend but it was so worth it.  The girls enjoy one another’s company and I know it will be a bond that they will have forever.  I’m particularly proud of Leah.  My nieces were very interested in Kami this visit…they were both being very motherly with Kami.  It was cute and I was sure Leah would notice and get upset, but she didn’t.  She was completely content with the way things were playing out.  She seems so mature right now - it’s probably a week long phase that will soon turn to 5 year old behavior again.  For now I LIKE it!   Here are a couple of photos…

Alyssa just had her 9th birthday party which was a Fiesta!  She shared some sombreros with the girls.  What was that I was saying about being “mature”?

Leah rode the log ride at the waterpark.  She really impressed me and was very brave!  Love her face!

The girls at a local playground.  They posed themselves - very nicely I might add.  Leah is growing her hair out and is very excited to wear ponytails again (we’ve had the same one in for 3 days now).

  • When my nieces visit, my brother and/or sister-in-law usually meet me half-way to swap kids.  We were on our way back home and Leah and Kami were watching a show on the DVD player.  All of the sudden I realized that the show was playing the same Strawberry Shortcake song over and over and over again.  I looked in the rearview mirror and Leah (who’s in charge of the remote for the player) was sleeping.  Kami and I listened to the song for a little while and then I hear Kami shout:  Week Up Weah (wake up Leah)”.  I giggled - I think she was tired of hearing it too!  Finally I figured out I could reach the power connection and pulled the plug!
  • Kami counted to 5 today.
  • Brooke has been saying “uh-oh” quite a bit lately.  She also mimicked Mom changing her diaper yesterday and said “stinky”.
  • Leah knows what a BFF is now - thanks to her older cousins. ;-)
  • I mentioned that we went to Zoombezi Bay this past weekend.  We drove past it yesterday and Kami yelled “BEEZIE BAY”.

Busy Weekend… August 17, 2008

My nieces were visiting this weekend so it’s been extra crazy!  We enjoyed our first trip to Zoombezi Bay (waterpark)!  We also had fun playing BINGO, playing with Alyssa’s “Blendy Pens”, shopping, playing at the park, singing, visiting the zoo, eating and playing at McD’s, being silly and just having a great time!

Here’s an old layout of Leah and her cousins Alyssa and Camille.  It’s titled “Pajama Party”.  The girls loved wearing their towels on their heads.

They have such a good time together.  As you can imagine, I took lots of pics so I will share more later.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Some cards from my friend Karen… August 14, 2008

Remember me telling you about my talented friend Karen?  Well, she so graciously made up some cards and layouts with Jillibean Soup products (and the occasional Stampin’ Up stamp).  Thank you Karen!  I would like to share some of them with you - please excuse the glare…I was having difficulty with lighting.

I think this is so cute!  The “love” is actually popped out.  I think she used punches for the “love” and the scalloped border.

I think this would make a great thanksgiving card!  The felt leaves are from the dollar bins at Target.

Sorry about the glare on this one.  Love how she layered the “minced shallot” (circles, ovals, birds)  paper over “brown sugar” (graph).  I know - who comes up with these names?   Here’s a close-up of the stamp:

I’m guessing it’s a Stampin Up stamp - Karen, please correct me if I’m wrong.  She even cut out a small circle of leaves to put in the center.

Love how she popped out some of the tree leaves here (the paper name is “chopped parsley”).  I’m guessing the “Create” stamp is a Stampin’ Up product as well.  Can’t wait to see the new SU catalog!

Thanks again Karen!

A card here, a card there… August 12, 2008

I love to make cards - they are so fun and require less time/energy (as compared to a scrapbook page).  Here are some older cards I thought I would share.  All you need are a few scraps and a couple embellishments and voila.

This card was made with 2 different star punches (you could do this with any punch).  The center strip was punched first and the punched stars were inked and laid on top of the middle strip.  I use my computer for most of my journaling.  If I don’t have a particular stamp for a card, I usually type/print it on my computer.  There are numerous fonts to choose from.

This was made with some scraps, a rub-on and a flower from Creative Cafe (Creative Imaginations).  To tie everything together, I inked the edges.  The inked edge on the “thanks” piece of kraft also sets it apart from the kraft card background.

Yep, another kraft card.  This was made with some scraps and a cute “thinking of you” stamp.

Oh my, a card without any kraft paper?  What?  I love the colors in this card.  The colors are all rich and work well together.

My friend Karen made some great cards with some Jillibean Soup paper.  Check back tomorrow for some of Karen’s cards!

Thanks for looking!

Today is hubby and my anniversary.  We’ve been married for 8 years.  Wow, time flies.  With 3 little ones, special anniversary celebrations don’t really exist.  Hubby knows the way to my heart - through sweets!  He bought my favorite…french silk pie!  Yum!  The girls and I enjoyed a piece tonight…

Even Brookie got a couple of spoonfuls.  She loved it!  I guess she’s not allergic to chocolate like her Mom was when she was a little girl.

Thanks babe - love you!

Have a great day!
