The Soup Bowl

Tidbits about Jillibean Soup and the life behind the bowl…

A couple of Jillibean Soup cards September 30, 2008

“Thank you card that could easily be a “give thanks” card for Thanksgiving.  Patterned Papers are from Jillibean Soup, Ribbon is from Michaels (Michaels branded), and the tag is from Avery.  I used a Stampin’ Up stamp for the tiny “Thank You”.  The baby safety pin is one of those things that’s been in my stash for years.

Recognize this Jenn?

Again, using the cute little Avery tags and Stampin’ Up stamps.  Wanted to add some different colors to the green/brown birds.  The patterned paper is Jillibean Soup and Bo Bunny, cardstock is from Bazzill, die-cut flower is from DCWV, ribbon is from Michaels, flower is from Prima and the brad is from The Paper Studio.  The Avery tag comes with a little looped thread.  I wrapped the thread around the brad to hold it in place.

One last one with that Martha Stewart Butterfly punch.  Patterned paper is from Jillibean Soup and American Crafts, ribbon is from Offray.  I also used a Stampin’ Up scallop punch and my oldie but goodie Creative Memories circle punch for the inside of the scallop.

Thanks for looking!

Fun Bits for the week of Sept 22nd…

  • Leah thinks that because she has brown eyes, she can see better in the dark.
  • Kami loves hanging out with big sister’s friends.
  • Brooke is saying more words like “shoe”, “juice” and “binty” (blankie)
  • Lily had her 8 week appointment today with the surgeon and she is cleared for play!

  • We enjoyed some fall fun at a Leed’s farm this past weekend.  Here are some pics to share…

This is a new bouncy thing they have at the farm.  Leah is on the right and her friend Grace is in the middle.  Looks like fun, huh!

Leah and Grace (or Gace as Kami calls her) giggling and rolling in the large tube.

Have a great week!

Size 4, hand-me-down, croc-like shoe…Brooke’s favorite shoe.

We lost the right one last week while on a walk.

Remember the crab and the fish?

Crab and fish out.  Croc-like shoe in.

She carries them (it) everywhere.

She insists on continuing to wear the left one by itself.

First thing when she gets up, she goes and gets the shoe and wants you to put it on.

She also insists that these are the only shoes (shoe) she will wear.

She gets mad when you try to put other shoes on her.

Anyone know where I can find another size 4 croc-like shoe?

Enjoy your weekend!

Don’t let your kids eat pre-inked red stamps.

Do something fun outside…the weather will be cold before we know it.  We will be headed out for some fall fun tonight.  The girls are excited.

I’m excited that I get to crop with friends for 12 hours tomorrow at B&B Scrapbooks.  It’s a ScrapPink crop.  Stop in the store, they’re having a silent auction and some fun make n’ takes.  All proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen foundation!  It seems like everyone knows of one or more women affected by Breast Cancer…what a great opportunity to support this cause.

My wish for you… September 24, 2008

Not my favorite layout.  This is one of my favorite pics of Kami but it’s just not spatially pleasing on the page.  Anyhow, wanted to share it anyway.  I am fortunate enought to have an Epson R1800 printer(which is no longer available and has been replaced by the R1900) that will print up to 13″ wide …therefore I can print 12X12 photos or pages.  I’m have not ventured into the digital scrapbooking world yet but I like being able to print titles or journaling on photos – so I guess It’s kind of hybrid.  The photo really could be a stand-alone page but I wanted to add a couple of things.  The title (printed on kraft to match the butterflies) is “My Wish for You”.  The journaling is from Leann Womack’s song “I Hope You Dance” which I love and the lyrics are perfect for “My Wish” for my girls.  You can see the video for this song here.

Other items added:

  • Patterned Paper: October Afternoon, Jillibean Soup
  • Button: Bluementhal Lansing (purchased from JoAnn’s)
  • Pen: Sharpie

Mom: And what would you do with that?

Leah: Ride it.

Leah: Oh, and it has to be pink.

Leah: Pink or Yellow.  I don’t care.

Mom: OK, Leah…I’ll look into that.

What’s your color? September 23, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — jyeger @ 7:08 am

There are so many great blogs out there…one I like to visit is “How about Orange”.  Jen and Jenn – you both will love this site with your love of orange.

If you’re not familiar with graphic design, then you’ve probably never heard of the Pantone Matching System.  It’s color system used to communicate colors between artists, graphic designers, printers, fashion designers, interior designers and many others.  It’s a great way for everyone to be on the same page when it comes to color.

Jessica (from “How About Orange”) recently posted a link to Pantone’s Colorstrology.  I invite you to check it out and see what your color pallete is.

Here’s mine…

January is Caramel Color…how appropriate is that!  Here’s the description for people born on January 15th (my bday)…

YOU have a very strong will and are determined to get what you go after.  The challenge here is to know what really gives you pleasure.  Although monetary worth is very important to you, it is not the end all in regard to contentment.  Try to develop a strong belief system and practice faith whenever possible.  You are capable of many things.  Your personal color helps you stay true to your inner self.  Wearing, meditating or surrounding yourself with Cedar Wood can help you stay uplifted.

Wow.  For those of you that know me, you know I wear a ton of brown.  My home is decorated with all shades of brown.  And….of course, Jillibean Soup and the whole brown kraft thing.
