The Soup Bowl

Tidbits about Jillibean Soup and the life behind the bowl…

Oh, where oh where… September 17, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — jyeger @ 9:39 pm

does the time go?  We’re heading towards the end of September and I can’t believe it!  The leaves have started changing and you can wear a jacket at night.  Christmas will be here before we know it!   Then, the January CHA show.  It’s funny how my life revolves around tradeshows and designs now.

Ahhhh, I need some blogging motivation!  I get into it for a day or two and then get side-tracked with a million other things!  Oh my!  I’ve found that it’s easier to post a 10 word sentence on Facebook every now and then, then updating the blog.  Need some inspiration…

No worries, I’m not giving this up, I just need to get my blogging mojo back.  Maybe I should mix it up a bit and change the look or something?  Any ideas?

Shall I leave you with something?

How about a cute little “hi” mini card?  BTW, loving little mini cards to throw in a package!

Crop Challenge Cards May 21, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — jyeger @ 7:00 am

I mentioned earlier in the week that I would share the challenge cards from the Jillibean crop.  The creative juices were flowing!  I gave the girls 45 minutes to come up with a card from some scraps (which included both Minestrone and Whitebean patterned papers).  Everyone chose to use the Whitebean papers.  After everyone voted, we had a 3-way tie!  Holly ended up walking away with the prize.

I apologize in advance…I’m not quite sure which card belongs to who…

I think this card belonged to Bev?  Love the blocking with the different pp.

A cute card from Ms. Jana.  You can see more of Jana’s work here.  Love how she cut out the frames.

Tracy created this adorable card.  Again, love the blocking of the different patterns.

Heather created this Happy Birthday card.  Love the googlie eyes on the frog.  Heather has recently started selling cards on Etsy…you can check them out here.

This “Happy Bird-day” card was created by Holly..the white chocolate crunch muncher at the crop. 😉   Kidding…love the card, Holly!

Can someone help me out with this card?  The butterflies are too cute!

Judy created both the “Friend” card above and the “Thank you” card below.  Love the circles.  The green against the white background looks great!

This has got to be the best part of the job…seeing what other’s make with Jillibean goodness. 🙂  Love it!

Thanks Ladies!

A couple of mini cards May 20, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — jyeger @ 7:01 am

During the Jillibean crop last weekend, my plan was to start the night off working on cards and then finish with a couple of layouts.  Well, I never made it to layouts.  😦   Sooo, I have some cards to share…

Simple, simple card.  A little bit of Elbow Macaroni, add some Core’dinations Cardstock (that’s been embossed with the Cuttlebug), a Tim Holtz coupon and some American Crafts Thickers and voila!

Thank you card created with some Thin Zucchini, some Creative Cafe buttons, a little bit of May Arts ribbon and a Jillibean Soup clear stamp (ooh…did you read that?).  P.S.  Used a Stampin’ Up punch for the scalloped border.

Have a great day everyone!

Card Swap April 7, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — jyeger @ 8:00 pm

I attended a card swap with some friends last week…thanks ladies!   There’s some great talent in the group so I thought I would share some of the cards…

Here’s a sweet “hello” card from Holly.  Love the cute owl…he’s adorable.

BTW…I’m not sure of all the products but if you would like to know where something came from then shoot me an e-mail…I’ll find out.

Kelly used some JB Soup on her “Happy Birthday” card.   She also drew/hand wrote her sentiments on!  It looks like it’s stamped…cute stuff, Kelly.

A “friend” card from Missey.  I LOVE this font/design from her Cricut…Missey, I can’t remember the name of the cartridge.  Great job distressing and adding some stickles for flair.

Love this “Happy Birthday” card from Tracy with a “hint” of JB Soup.  The pic doesn’t do it justice.

Here’s a cute “Thank You (Merci)” card from Sarah.  I love the thick polka dot ribbon.  Great spring colors Sarah!

An adorable “baby” card from Jamie (there’s a hint of JB Soup on there too).  Love the edging on the inside of the card…love the embossed card too!

Here’s a simple but incredibly elegant card from Michelle.  Michelle told us she copied the chandelier image from the internet and printed it out.  It looks like a stamp or rub-ons!  She added the pink puff paint and the sentiment and “ta da”.  Love it!

Heather, I apologize for the lighting in this photo.  Heather made this cute “Congrats” card.  The patterned paper on top has a hint of the blue…the colors look great together.  There’s that embossed paper again (lovin’ the Cuddlebug)!

Thanks Ladies!  Love the designs!

“Hoppy Birthday” card.  Papers from the Whitebean collection.  The rick rack is from our Pink/Green Bean Stalk.   “Hoppy Birthday” was printed using my computer.

“Thanks so Much” card.  Again, papers are from the Whitebean collection.  The ribbon is from the Red/Black Bean Stalk.  A Stampin’ Up punch was used for the scallop.  Fiskars scalloped edge scissors were used for the scalloped edge on the green.  The “Thanks So Much” stamp is from Hero Arts.

“Hi” card…this card was also in our booth at CHA.  I recently used it for a card class at Scrapbook Art.  It’s so simple but cute.  All papers are from the Minestrone collection.  The rick rack is from the Red/Black Bean Stalk.  “Hi” was printed using my computer.  All circles were cut using  Creative Memories tools.

“Hello” card.  Again, papers are from the Minestrone collection.  Twine is from the Green/Brown Bean Stalk.  “Hello” was printed using my computer and punched with a Stampin’ Up punch.  The square background is cut using Fiskars scalloped edge scissors.

Thanks for looking!

Here are the cards we made for the B&B make n’ takes on Saturday.

Sorry the photos are not too hot – too much light.  You get the idea, though.  Option one was this versatile foldover card using “Half & Half” paper from the Cream of Mush collection.  I used the 3″ punch from EK Success for the red scallop on the front (you will see one of these in a giveaway soon).  With the exception of the Bazzill cardstock and the Paper Company bling, all products are from JB Soup.

The other option was a “Happy Thanksgiving” card using “Acorn Squash”.  The ribbon, bean seeds (felt flowers) are also from JB Soup.  The stamp is from Hero Arts.

Everyone also had the opportunity to make a mini-card (gift tag).  We made the “For You” mini card with the butterfly from “Fresh Raspberries”.

Thank you everyone who came out on Saturday (skipped the game :-)) and joined Karen and I!

Got some good stuff to share.  I apologize for the lighting in the photos.

Here’s a very cool “Fall” layout from Emily (Emily works at Scrapbook Groupies in Gahanna and is the sweetest!).  She used the Cream of Mush collection to create that very cool tree.  Love the 3-D leaves too!  Thanks Emily!

Here’s another cute fall page from Kathy.  Kathy used the Spicy Pumpkin collection as well as some JB Soup Bean Seeds (felt pieces).  The girls in the pic are my 2 sweet nieces.  Thanks Kathy!

Suzie created a cute baseball page using the Cold Raspberry line.  The circles work great with the baseball theme.  Thanks Suzie!

“Many Thanks” card from Tracy.  Love that Cream of Mush line!  Tracy used the Half & Half (birds) paper on the inside as well.  Great design!  Cute card Tracy!!

A “Pumpkin Patch” layout from Jamie.  She used the white Cream of Mush line.  Look at that adorable owl!  She cut him out by hand – cute, cute!!  Thanks Jamie!

More to share soon!

Thanks ladies!  It’s exciting for me to see my paper in action!
