The pilgrims set sail…

Filed under: Uncategorized — jyeger @ 12:56 am

Here’s a cute pilgrim for you.  Leah had her Thanksgiving program on Monday.  It’s tradition for the kindergarteners to give the Thanksgiving performance every year.  They sang songs and did a little pilgrim dance.  Love their cute hats!

Here she is leaning on the side of the Mayflower.  The 2 morning classes are combined for the program so there were lots of little pilgrims running around.  It was funny because all of the pilgrims wanted to be in the front row of the Mayflower – some were doing a little pushing.

The scene…pilgrims on the right and Indians on the left.  My cute little pilgrim is peaking out from behind the front sail on the Mayflower.

Here’s happy pilgrim hanging out with her friends.

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving!

Gobble, Gobble…

With the Holidays quickly approaching, I will be taking some blogging breaks.  This is the first year my brother and sister-in-law (Kathy, who posts here regularly) will be selling Christmas trees from their Christmas Tree Farm.  You can check out their site here.  Eric and I are excited to be able to help them out on their opening weekend  – this coming weekend.  Therefore, I will not be posting during Thanksgiving break.

HOWEVER………..I will post another giveaway tomorrow…so check back!

This is a time of thanks so I ask you to remember those in need this time of year.  I know this is a difficult year for many families with the economy the way it is.  I’m sure there will be some without Thanksgiving dinner this year, so please remember to help stock your local food pantry.  I found this on the NBC4 site…

  • The Mid-Ohio Food Bank has had a 14% increase in demand from local pantries right here in Columbus.
  • 1 in 8 people in Central Ohio need help from a local food pantry in order to be able to eat.
  • If there are 1.3 Million people in Franklin County, 162,000 people need help to eat. That is enough people to fill Ohio Stadium, Crew Stadium, Nationwide and Value Center Arena!
  • One third of the people served by the Mid-Ohio Food Bank have to choose between food and shelter and half are forced to choose between eating and utility bills.

This is only in central Ohio, I’m sure there are so many more in your area of the world.

On a lighter note…check out Julie’s cute tabletop decor here – made with Jillibean Soup papers!

Did anyone see the Sarah Mclachlan/Pink duet on the AMA’s the other night?  Gave me chills.  Love Sarah and loved the harmony with Pink!

Want a quick chuckle…check out these “DeMotivators” posters from Despair, Inc.  I like the one about blogging…

Never before have so many people with so little to say said so much to so few.

How true is that – ha!

Check out these cute, cute turkey bibs from Etsy seller Charliz.

Like I said…random.  Just keeping you on your toes!

Have a great day!

Here’s a layout I worked on during our retreat at Zane Trace Inn.  The journaling was created using the “About” page from this blog.  So, the layout is all about “me”.  I used “Shittake” from the Cream of Mush line and created the die cut from another piece of patterned paper (I think I used one from Making Memories).  Also, the red frame around “me” was created using 2 punches….one large scallop punch (from EK Success) created the large scallop and then I used a smaller punch (Stampin’ Up) to create the inner hole.  The red looks a bit flourescent in the photo – sorry…it doesn’t look that crazy in person.  I added a journaling sprout last but have not journaled anything on it yet.  Any ideas what I should put on it?  I was going to put “36” (for my age) but it didn’t work with the “about” journaling.  Any other ideas?  Any cute charms or new buttons or fun do-dads I could use?

Thanks for looking!

Couple of Cards November 24, 2008

Here are the cards we made for the B&B make n’ takes on Saturday.

Sorry the photos are not too hot – too much light.  You get the idea, though.  Option one was this versatile foldover card using “Half & Half” paper from the Cream of Mush collection.  I used the 3″ punch from EK Success for the red scallop on the front (you will see one of these in a giveaway soon).  With the exception of the Bazzill cardstock and the Paper Company bling, all products are from JB Soup.

The other option was a “Happy Thanksgiving” card using “Acorn Squash”.  The ribbon, bean seeds (felt flowers) are also from JB Soup.  The stamp is from Hero Arts.

Everyone also had the opportunity to make a mini-card (gift tag).  We made the “For You” mini card with the butterfly from “Fresh Raspberries”.

Thank you everyone who came out on Saturday (skipped the game :-)) and joined Karen and I!

Fun Bits for the Week of Nov 17th:

  • Brooke heard singing “Row, Row, Row your Boat”.
  • Kami has started lining up the shoes in the laundry room – guess she has a little of Mom’s OCD.

  • Leah attempting to do ballroom dancing after watching “Dancing with the Stars” with Mom.
  • Brooke found standing on the toilet bowl seat – luckily it was down.
  • I’m finally getting over my cold – yeah!
  • Check out these 3 Amigas…

Have a great week everyone!

A little help from some Jillibean Friends part 2

I said, I would have more to share…

Amy created this cute “great outdoors” layout with papers from both the Cream of Mush line and the Cold Raspberry line.  Love how she tore the paper below the photo.  Also, love her journaling spot with the bird and butterfly.  Thanks for sharing Amy!

This “card kit” is from Jody…Jody has a great paperie in Wooster, Ohio called the Pink Tomato.  Jodi added yellow cardstock to the JB papers – something I would have never thought of!  Jodi also created a cute little bag to put the cards in.  Cute kit, Jodi, thanks for sharing!

“Grandparents are Great” layout from Holly.  Holly used the Split Pea collection and the “Oh so Orange” Alphabeans.  Love how she cut the bottom of the star so the tip would go over the photo.  Thanks for sharing Holly!

Here’s another layout from Amy.  Amy used the white Cream of Mush line for this layout.  She cut several of the trees out and used them with the “Morel” paper.  Cute layout Amy…thanks for sharing!

“Little Princess, Big Chief” from Edna.  Edna got really creative with this page and made a tee pee out of the “Brown Sugar” paper.  Very cute!  Thanks for sharing Edna!

Linda did a layout of her kids using the Blackbean collection.  I love how she cut them diagonally and added 2 different designs.  Thanks for sharing Linda!

“Maria” layout from Kathy.  Kathy pulled the oranges and greens out of the photo and used the Split Pea paper to coordinate.  She also used the Bean Brown Alphabeans and a couple of Journaling Sprouts.  I love how she tore the paper at the bottom of the layout and created more texture on the page.

Thanks everyone for sharing their pages!!  More to come soon!

To those of you looking for product on the website…we’re working on it!  We’re working on loading all of the other JB Soup goodies along with the “about us” page, “recipes” page and the wholesale log-in.

The photo does not do this layout justice…  Here’s a layout using the white Cream of Mush line.  I love the birds.  I love green and brown together!  You can also see some fun JB Soup ribbons and twill.  Someone from the Columbus Scrappers (was that Melissa?) was asking about twill last night and I didn’t even think about my twill ribbons.  The black and white photo just pops off the page.  I added a pink JB Soup Bean Seed (felt flower) as just a hint of color.

Other products used: brown flocked letters, Making Memories ; brown cardstock letters, Doodlebug

Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday Pappy!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — jyeger @ 4:35 pm

Today is my Dad’s birthday.  My Dad is not fond of the camera so I don’t have any great shots of him (kind of like my bro).  I won’t share his age either. ;-}  He’s the youngest son of 7 children (5 boys, 2 girls),  served in the army at Vietnam and has worked very hard as a mason for most of his life.

Happy Birthday Dad!  Have a great day!

Love ya!
