“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the
Government shall be upon His shoulder; and His name shall
be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Merry Christmas Everyone…unto us a SON is given! We are so thankful for everything in our lives and are so blessed to be enjoying this beautiful day with our 3 young children. As you can imagine it’s so much fun to see the excitement in their faces and joy when they see that Santa brought them presents. This weekend and next, we will join family and celebrate with them – we are thankful to be able to share in the spirit with our families. Again, we are so very blessed and have the Lord to thank for all of it.
I’m hoping that all of you are enjoying this day. I’ve been lifting up some people in prayers lately that are in need this Christmas season. They are dealing with issues that I can’t even begin to know what they are going through. Some of them have been listed in recent posts. I ask you to think about them again on this day. Prayers for peace for families in need and for Karen’s husband Mark. Prayers of hope for families who recently experienced the fire. Prayers of joy for the donor who donated $1,000,000 to the tenants of that fire. Prayers of faith for those struggling with their lives right now with money and lost jobs. Prayers of love for those who are lonely this Christmas season. Prayers for many blessings for all of you in the coming year.
My sister in law sent an e-mail recently with a friendly reminder of what we have and what we should remember to be thankful for. It’s cute and simple, but it’s a great reminder…
I AM THANKFUL:
FOR THE WIFE
WHO SAYS IT’S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,
AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE .
FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS ON THE SOFA
BEING A COUCH POTATO,
BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME
AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.
FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES
BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME,
NOT ON THE STREETS.
FOR THE TAXES I PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM EMPLOYED .
FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.
FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.
FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM OU T IN THE SUNSHINE
FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,
AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME
FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING
I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT MEANS
WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH. …
FOR THE PARKING SPOT
I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING
AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION .
FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM WARM.
FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH
WHO SINGS OFF KEY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I CAN HEAR.
FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.
FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES
AT THE END OF THE DAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN
CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.
FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF
IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.
AND I AM THANKFUL:
FOR THE crazy people I work with
BECAUSE they make work interesting and fun!
AND FINALLY, FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL
BECAUSE ? IT MEANS
I HAVE FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.
Thanks Kathy for sharing!
