I recently attended a Stampin’ Up party at my friend Heather’s house.  Her friend Andrea started selling it this year and had lots of great ideas to share.  We had fun making some cute cards and goodies.  I also bought way-too-much-stuff!!  I will share that I will be giving away one of the goodies I bought soon!

I thought I would share a couple of mini cards that we made.

Simple, but cute.  These really focus on the stamp.  We had fun with chalks and glitter!

I decided to make some mini cards or gift cards with some Jillibean Soup products.  Most of these I will use with gift bags, presents, short-notice gift or with a gift card.  I always need cards around and these are perfect.

These are on display at B&B Scrapbooks in Powell.  You can visit the store to see them in person.  Pick up some JB Soup goodies while you’re there. 🙂

For most of the cards I printed “sayings” instead of stamping.  This is an inexpensive way to get the “stamped” look without having to invest in a bunch of stamps.  There are several sites that I like to download fonts from…

http://www.1001freefonts.com/  (free)

http://www.abstractfonts.com/fontlist/p  (free – I use Pea Jenny quite a bit)

http://www.urbanfonts.com/  (free)

http://www.scrapnfonts.com/   (you will have to pay for fonts on this site, but you can get some cool stuff from Ali Edwards and others)

Enjoy!  Thanks for Looking!

Happy Cards… November 1, 2008

Hello All!  Hope you enjoyed the beautiful weather today!!

Have some cards to share…

A thank you card using “Flour Tortillas” from the Black Bean collection.  The “Thank You” is stamped with this stamp set from Hero Arts.  The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and the twine will be sold from JB Soup soon!

A “Happy Birthday” card using both “Bay Leaf” from the Split Pea Collection and “Fresh Raspberries” from the Cold Raspberry collection.  I used this stamp from Stampabilities and this embossing folder from Provo Craft.  I love my Cuttlebug!  They have some great new embossing folders here!  The “Happy Birthday” ribbon is from American Crafts.

“Hi” card using the “Cayenne Pepper”, “Brown Sugar” and “Paprika” from the Spicy Pumpkin collection.  The stamp set is from Chatterbox and can be found here.  I also used Marvy Uchida’s tree punch and mega square scallop.  The ribbon is from Michaels.

Sorry for the serious glare off that bright green bird paper. 😉  Here’s a “Happy Bird-day” card using paper from the white Cream of Mushroom line.  Again I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the brown cardstock using this embossing folder.  The bird stamp is from Imaginisce and can be found here.   The “Happy Bird-day” was printed using my computer.

Some cards from the Columbus Scrappers October 27, 2008

I’m sure you heard me mention that the Columbus Scrappers were hosting a card swap featuring Jillibean Soup products.  Well, we had the swap yesterday and I would like to share the cards that were made.

“Enjoy the Day” by Kim.  I love how Kim pulled out the apple green color.  I’m a huge fan of apple green (yes, I like colors other than brown).  Love the “v” shaped ribbon on the side too.  Thanks Kim!

A notecard from Missey.  Love those birds in the middle!  Missey used both the Cream of Mush line (birds) and the Spicy Pumpkin line (vine).  I’m sure you’ve noticed that all of the browns used in the paper are all the same.  This makes it easy to use several different styles from several different collections.  Thanks Missey!

“Just Because” from Gina.  Love how Gina combined both the kraft and white Cream of Mush lines.  It’s hard to see but Gina added some bling (I think it’s Stickles) on the parenthesis around her message.  Cute, cute Gina!

A notecard from Robyn.  The peachy/orange flowers really pull out the colors in the paper.  Love it!  Thanks Robyn for the cute card!

A “thank you” card from Jana.  I love how Jana added the “thank you” to the flower petal.  So cute!  Love that Spicy Pumpkin line!

A notecard from Amy.  I love color blocking!  I do it all the time and I love how Amy did it with the Blackbean collection!  Amy lives in Illinois and still took the time to participate in the swap.  Thanks Amy!

“Hi” card from Daria.  Daria used several styles on this card and it’s oh, so cute!  She added a little bling and some flowers at the top.  Love those felt flowers too Daria 😉

Thank you ladies!  You guys are awesome!  I can’t say it enough…thank you for supporting Jillibean Soup!

How about a cute little Spicy Pumpkin gift bag?  It’s inexpensive, it’s cute and it’s easy to make.

Add dimension by popping it off the bag.

Add your favorite Jillibean Soup cards…everyone can use a couple extra handmade cards!

A great gift for teachers this Holiday season.

Thanks for looking!

See what other gals are doing with JB Soup products… October 12, 2008

I would love to share with you some other layouts and cards made with Jillibean Soup products.

This is a layout from my friend Missey.  She used a couple of papers from the Blackbean collection for this one.  I love the b/w photo on this paper!  Love the bling too!  Cute layout Missey, thanks for sharing!!!

This is an adorable card from Jana. 🙂  Cute story about Jana…I met her at a jewelry party at Missey’s.  Missey shared my paper with the group at the party.  Jana was so excited and loved it.  She doesn’t know it but she totally made my week that week.  Her timing couldn’t have been better.  Thanks, Jana.

Again, Jana used the Black Bean collection.  I’m all about “wrapping” cards, pics and layouts lately…I take twine and wrap it around the card or pic several times.  I’m sure you’ve seen it in some of my posts lately.

Another cute layout from Missey.  I like the tabs on the left of the photo.  Missey used the Spicy Pumpkin collection for this layout.  Great fall layout Missey!!

This is a beautiful card that my friend Karen gave to me.  Love the glitter in the center of the flower.  Who knew they made brown glitter?  Karen is better at “altering” than I am.  She uses sponges to ink her edges and it definitely makes more of an impact than the Catseyes I use.  Karen used the Spicy Pumpkin collection for this as well.

This is another adorable card from Jana.  I like how she “v’d” the ribbon.  I love staples too – I just don’t remember to use them. 😉  Oooh, and there’s some kraft Alphabeans on this card!  Jana used the Split Pea collection for this card.  Thanks for sharing Jana!

Thanks ladies!!  Hopefully I will get better at posting more sample more often.  Soon, you can view more ideas in the “recipes” tab on the website.  If you have projects you want to share, please feel free to e-mail them to me at jill@jillibean-soup.com.

Thanks!

Here’s another card from the card party.  There’s that kraft paper again!

Love this cute little guy.  He’s from Creative Imaginations.  He’s stamped on kraft paper and the flower is colored in with colored pencils.

If you’re a paper crafter/scrapbooker then you know there are massive amounts of birds on various products these days (including Jillibean Soup products 😉 ).  It’s amazing how all of these trends not only appear in this industry but also appear in the jewelry, fashion and interior design industries.

And this oh so cute pillow.  Also from Etsy.

And this tote…love it!

Have a “tweet” day!  Ha!

Card Party October 4, 2008

Had fun last night with the girls.  We had another cardmaking party.  Thank you to Sarah for hosting it at your church and helping me set-up.  Thank you everyone for all the yummy snacks and for helping clean-up.

Here are some of the cards that we crafted…

One of my favorites…yes, more brown, red and orange.  The patterned paper is from Scenic Route.  The stamp is from a new Hero Arts set (new for me anyhow) and has already made it into my “use all the time” baskets.

Love the frames and all the different sayings.

Love this card too.  Love pink, green and black together.  Patterned Papers are from Luxe and Pinecone Press.

Here we go again with the browns.  Patterned paper is from Daisy Bucket Designs .  The stamp used is from a “Stampin Up” set which I use all the time.  It’s from 2006 so I’m guessing it’s retired (sorry, I don’t know the name of the set).  I know they offer similar type sets.

It’s nice to have one set that you can use for all occasions.

Of course we had to throw in some Jillibean Soup stuff as well.  I know I’ve posted this before…it’s one of my favorites (simple and cute).  Added the flowers and button this time around.

Thanks for looking!!

A couple of Jillibean Soup cards September 30, 2008

“Thank you card that could easily be a “give thanks” card for Thanksgiving.  Patterned Papers are from Jillibean Soup, Ribbon is from Michaels (Michaels branded), and the tag is from Avery.  I used a Stampin’ Up stamp for the tiny “Thank You”.  The baby safety pin is one of those things that’s been in my stash for years.

Recognize this Jenn?

Again, using the cute little Avery tags and Stampin’ Up stamps.  Wanted to add some different colors to the green/brown birds.  The patterned paper is Jillibean Soup and Bo Bunny, cardstock is from Bazzill, die-cut flower is from DCWV, ribbon is from Michaels, flower is from Prima and the brad is from The Paper Studio.  The Avery tag comes with a little looped thread.  I wrapped the thread around the brad to hold it in place.

One last one with that Martha Stewart Butterfly punch.  Patterned paper is from Jillibean Soup and American Crafts, ribbon is from Offray.  I also used a Stampin’ Up scallop punch and my oldie but goodie Creative Memories circle punch for the inside of the scallop.

I thought with all the power outages (and the spookyness that comes with the dark) that I would share a couple of Halloween cards…

Love the cute diecut bats…Martha Stewart punch.  The chipboard letters are from Bo Bunny.

OK, So I haven’t mastered the bows on the side…need some help with that if anyone has any tips?

Having some fun with Jillibean Soup Alphabeans (which are being re-printed next week and will hopefully be in stores in 2-3 weeks).  Also included is a Maya Road journaling spot and that cute spider is from Sandylion.

This card is actually a “flat” meaning it doesn’t open…it’s flat.  The “best witches” stamp is from Stampin’ Up.

Thanks for lurking!
