One of the things we like to do over here is to update our christmas stockings—spruce it up a bit for santa–i’m going to start a tradition with tyler this year and bake cookies–just so we can get our hands dirty–good luck to everyone!

  2. Krusty Klaus visits on Xmas eve bringing everyone gag gifts after supper. My kids call him Silly Santa 🙂 It’s actually Grandpa! (But they haven’t figured that out yet).

    Merry Christmas!

We moved away from family this year, so we’re starting some new traditions. We read the story of Jesus’ birth to our boys as we add the pieces to our nativity set. The first thing Christmas morning everyone checks stockings to see what Santa brought. And there’s food…lots and lots of food!

  8. Tracy Says:

We invite over friends a few weeks before Christmas & have Santa stop by to say hello to the children. The kids know what to expext now & can’t wait until Santa arrives!

We started this year using the Elf on the Shelf. The kids love it so much and every morning look for Jack in the living room. They are so sure that Jack goes and tells Santa every night if they are bad or good, it is so cute!

We do Christmas Eve with my mom and brother, and Christmas day with hubby’s family. Presents at 8, brunch, then a bigger meal for dinner. Since we’ll be away from home this year, we’ll do something to make our own tradition. I have a feeling we’ll be Skype-ing home for his family’s gift opening though…we’ll see if I can sleep in!

    Merry Christmas to everyone!

we are trying to make some new christmas traditions this year—cause my mom was christmas to us–from baking to special presents to fun shopping trips–but this is our first christmas with-out her–we lost her to colon cancer in june this year….so we are all a little lost–but my brothers and i and familes and my dad are pulling ourselves together to make it the best we can and make new traditions in honor of my mom —thanks for letting me share! merry christmas!!! jen t.

  16. Karen Nuce Says:

We always make fudge together – each of us has a job and we all participate. So far, we have made vanilla fudge with honey roasted peanuts and peanut butter fudge. Tomorrow, we will make a batch of dark chocolate and a batch of milk chocolate. We give it to family as we visit and we eat a lot of it!!!

Jen T. – so sorry that you are facing Christmas without your mom. This will be my second Christmas without my dad and it is so different. We started the tradition of making a donation in his name at Christmas. He was a construction worker so last year we donated lumber to Habitat from Humanity.

    Hang in there!

  17. Jamie Dones Says:
