This is Leah’s illustration of she and I making banana bread. She’s been keeping some notes in this cute journal. Leah loves to help Mom make the bread as you can see in the photo below. She also loves to eat it!
She used to be afraid of the electric mixer and run everytime I used it. Guess my baby is growing up.
Thought I would share our yummy recipe – the secret is the sour cream.
Aunt Margie’s Banana Bread
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
tsp baking soda
4 heaping Tbsps sour cream
1 cup mashed bananas
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat. Add soda dissolved in sour cream (this is key). Beat well. Add bananas, flour, salt and vanilla.
Bake in greased and floured loaf pan at 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes.
