Here a couple of simple cards to share.  No big frills, just some cute paper, a “saying” and a little embellishment or two.

I like this card.  I have a difficult time coming up with masculine cards.  Even with the polka dots – this could be used for a male birthday.

Materials: Card: DMD; Patterened Paper: Jillibean Soup; Ribbon: Berwick Offray; Stamp: Unknown (sorry) ; Ink: Ranger; Brads: The Paper Studio

Some fun colors put together for a simple “thank you” card.

Materials: Card: DMD; Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Jillibean Soup; Ribbon: Berwick Offray; Stamp: Hero Arts; Ink: Ranger, Colobok

Very, very basic and no stamps needed!!  I know I’ve said it before, but I use my computer for tons of journaling and also card titles or sayings.

Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Jillibean Soup; Felt Leaves: Target $1 bins

Thanks for looking!

Trip to the zoo…

Today, being labor day and marking the end of the summer, we decided to go to the zoo.  We all enjoyed the train ride, ate some lunch and played on the playground.  I know, where were the animals?  I said the zoo, right?  Unfortunately our trip had to be cut a little short…

Do you notice that big goose egg on her forehead?  Ouch!  Sweet Brookie.  Poor thing tripped and fell while playing on the playground.  It’s nice and bruised and I’m sure will look beautiful tomorrow.

Once again, that’s happy Brooke sitting on the train.

Aaaannnnndddd, not so happy Brooke with a big goose egg on her forehead.  Poor Brookie. 😦

Are you thinking what a rotten Mom I am that I’m taking pics of her while she’s down?  I thought so.

Fun Bits for the week of August 25th…

  • Leah started Kindergarten and loves it!

  • Kami is currently obsessed with bandaids.  I’m sure many of you can relate. 🙂
  • Leah and Kami had their first “Build a Bear” experience.  Today, Leah was talking about it and called it “Budda Bear”.  Ha!
  • Kami singing “Winkle, Winkle Weadle Dar”.
  • Brooke has suddenly become obsessed with a plastic fish and crab – she carries them everywhere (and, of course, chews on them)!

  • Kami started gymnastics this week.  There’s nothing cuter than a 2 yr old getting up from a forward roll and saying “ta da”.
  • Leah (pretending like she’s a queen) opening her bi-fold closet doors and saying “This is my royal kingdom”.
  • Kami crying because Leah refused to take a picture of her picking her nose.  Oh, I love these girls!
  • I enjoyed dinner with some girlfriends earlier in the week!  Thanks Holly and Kelly – I love swapping stories and hearing that my crazy life isn’t always the craziest!!!

Does symmetry make you happy?

Ooooh, I’m all giddy inside.  I love decorating and I especially love it when things work out.  Believe me – they don’t always and I have lots of holes in my walls to prove it!!!  Also, I love that I have a husband who’s an engineer and detail oriented!!!  He drew the layout of the frames, measured everything and even got out his level.  Thanks hubby!

I mentioned a couple weeks ago that we were swapping rooms in my house.  The family room stayed the family room, but we swapped out the couch (the cushions on the old one could no longer be flipped). ;-(  Then I decided to flip furniture in the room.  Anyhow, I was left with this awesome tall wall to fill up with some of my favorite photos!

The majority of these photos were taken by my friend Holly.  She’s very talented and has taught me alot!  The middle photo has yet to be replaced by a photo of my 3 girls.  I had this photo professionally framed and tried to change out the photo myself…not going to happen with all those staples in there!!!!

Everytime I look at it it makes me smile.  Finally, I got some photos up…some that I’ve had for years!
