A few more older layouts… September 12, 2008

It’s been a busy week so I haven’t had time to do any paper crafting.  I’m hoping to get some cards ready for the Cards for Heroes drive this weekend.  I will post some ideas for those soon.  In the meantime, here are a couple of older layouts.  If you want more info about the products used – shoot me an e-mail.

“Silly just like Mom”.  My oldest daughter has always been recoginized as looking just like her Dad.  When these pictures came out, I finally saw a bit of Mom in Leah.  In the middle of “Mom” is a picture of me at 3…there’s a bit of a resemblance.  She’s got that Irish dimple in her chin.

With fall approaching, I thought I would put up a “Pumpkin Patch” layout.  These were some of my favorite photos of Leah at 16 months old.  I didn’t plan for her to wear colors to match the pumpkins – it just worked out that way.  Love the Scenic Route and Chatterbox papers.

Ugghh…noticing how crooked things look.  I totally understand why Ali Edwards scraps standing up.  This photo was taken of Kami while I was in bed on bedrest with Brooke.  All the circles at the bottom are just a hodgepodge of different lines.  It’s amazing what you can put together and it still looks cohesive.

A couple of favorite layouts… September 10, 2008

Crazy busy this week.  I will hopefully be posting some new cards/layouts using JB Soup products.  In the meantime, I thought I would share some older layouts.

This was a camping trip we did with family.  I used some old wild asparagus letters (I think I bought them on QVC) , traced the “camping” on different patterned paper, cut them out and then typed journaling overtop of everything. 

This is one of my all time favorite layouts.  I wish the colors were better in the photo.  We try to do a fall photo shoot every year.  This one is titled “Lucky Mom”.  All of the flowers at the bottom are from a Autumn Leaves stamp set (which I still continue to use all the time) and were cut out by hand. 

This is from that same photo shoot.  Kami did not like her strawberry hat at all - love that face!

As Girly As it Gets August 31, 2008

As you can imagine we have tons of pink around this house!  My 5 yr old and 2 yr old share a room and it is painted an incredibly bright fushia color!  When I first painted it I remember this glow that came out from under the closed door.  It was bright!  You would have thought aliens lived in there or something!  Along with pink, we have everything Princess, Barbies, Dora, Polly Pocket, Strawberry Shortcake…you name it.  We also have lots of dress-up clothes.  Pretty much everyday we have some sort of dress-up party.  My 5 yr old is always wearing jewelry or sunglasses or pretties in her hair.  I grew up with 2 older brothers so I was a bit of a tomboy (I did love my Barbies though).  I’m glad that my girls have each other and that they get into the girly stuff.  Here’s a layout titled “DIVA”…this is just one glimpse at being “girly”.  I love how her underwear is sticking out of her pants – and that pose.

Inspiration from your children… August 28, 2008

I recently posted some cards that my 5 yr old made.  She continues to inspire me daily – not only in crafting but in many other ways as well.  Here’s a layout that was inspired by her…

Leah made a card a while back using the orange ribbon and she placed the cute frog stickers on top of it.  I loved the color combo and the use of the frogs.  I did the layout quite some time ago and I’m pretty sure I scraplifted it from somewhere.  I apologize that I can’t find the original designer.

Jornaling:

As you are well aware, Mommy likes to take lots of photos.  This photo was taken at Coffman Park – not too far from our house.  I dressed you up in this beautiful dress (Mommy loves Old Navy and loves to dress-up you and your sisters)and we headed to the park.  You were just about ready to start walking.  Mommy took lots of photos!  This one was taken on the inside of a slide at the playground.  I melted when I saw it.  Your face shows the true innocence of being 12 months old.  You are beautiful baby girl. 

 

Busy Weekend… August 17, 2008

My nieces were visiting this weekend so it’s been extra crazy!  We enjoyed our first trip to Zoombezi Bay (waterpark)!  We also had fun playing BINGO, playing with Alyssa’s “Blendy Pens”, shopping, playing at the park, singing, visiting the zoo, eating and playing at McD’s, being silly and just having a great time! 

Here’s an old layout of Leah and her cousins Alyssa and Camille.  It’s titled “Pajama Party”.  The girls loved wearing their towels on their heads. 

They have such a good time together.  As you can imagine, I took lots of pics so I will share more later.

Big Picture Update – I won something!!! August 6, 2008

When we returned from Washington, I logged onto the classroom to see what I had missed and found out that I won a book!  I never win anything so this was such a nice surprise!  The book is “The Designing With Recipes Book – A Step by Step Guide to 100 Perfect Pages” by Autumn Leaves.  I love the Autumn Leaves books so this was a great prize!  BPS gives away prizes every Monday. 

Now, wouldn’t you like to see something I’ve actually made from the class?  Like I told you earlier – I’m the deadbeat.  I’m there to get inspiration and ideas.  So far, so good.

Big Picture Scrapbooking Mini Book July 10, 2008

OK, still having difficulty with the scanner – think it’s going back to the manufacturer.  I decided to take some pics of the mini book.

This was the first project in the class using the following materials:

• 3 12X12 sheets of double sided patterned paper
• 1 12X12 piece of cardstock
• 1 set chipboard alpha
• tiny alphas
• ribbon and trim scraps
• small flowers, buttons, etc…
• die cut tags and labels

Basically you fold the 12X12 sheets twice, punch holes and tie it together to make a 6X6 album.  I like the concept because you do not need to buy an album for this…your patterned paper becomes your album.  Yeah! I actually completed an album (granted it only has 12 pages)! 

 

The theme was “be” and several quotes were used instead of journaling.  If you want any information on the products used, send me an e-mail.
